Hi again, I can't say enough how great these tutorials are, thanks one more time, I really admire how clean, easy to undestand and organized your codes are, I feel almost ready to start developing the app for my school project, I hope that if I get lost sometime you could give me a hand, anyway, I will try not to bother if there's no need, so, just to finish saying that I really enjoy doing the apps in your tutorials, thanks!!

In the Edit View you set the Title in the Nav Bar ...

In the Edit View you set the Title in the Nav Bar to be the KeyOfTheFieldToEdit with a Capitalized String.

I modified your app so that it is not just Coffee and Price, I have many entries in my view.

Is there any way to change the Nav Bar so that the Title is the text used in the Section Header? My Section Headers pretty much mimic the name of the Object, instead that they have spaces. Like "countryOfOrigin" and "coffeeStrength" has a Section Header of "Country of Origin" and "Coffee Strength".

So my objects named "coffeeStrength" and "countryOfOrigin" will show in the Nav Bar as "CoffeeStrength" and "CountryOfOrigin" instead of "Coffee Strength" and "Country of Origin".

Any way to fix that? I was hoping to try and figure out something like...

if
coffeeObj.coffeeStrength is being edited, display @"Coffee Strength";
if
coffeeObj.countryOfOrigin is being edited, display @"Country of Origin";
etc, etc

Any help would be great!

Hey great tutorial, I used your tutorial on the phone 3.0 os when you click on the details they automatically go to coffee name even if you click on price.. any way to fix this?

yes the 2.1 to 2.2.1 made it run.. now im editing it myself adding some more things.. all seems to work except for one thing.. when i exit the app pressing the home button and then reloading it.. the data that I edited on existing data did not change.. any ideas?

@Ace If you run the app using OS 2.2.1 you should not get any errors. Running the app with 2.1 does result it in a error and to fix it, remove the first line in SQLAppDelegate.m file (where the header file SQLAppDelegate.h is added)

The set method should be named setDoc_name. Notice the D is in caps. As a rule of thumb the getter and the setter methods are always created with the prefix "get" and the first alphabet of the variable is in caps.

Hi, I've been using your application as a base framework for my own application and have run into a bug. The error is occurring within my application after a user edits a value and the save_Clicked function is called. I've created a function named "setdoc_name" which mirrors your "setCoffeeName" function; doc_name is my variable which serves the same purpose as coffeeName. Within the DetailViewController.m file, I set the keyOfTheFieldToEdit for this case equal to "doc_name" as well. When I run the app using the debugger and set a breakpoint on the setdoc_name function, it never gets hit. I can tell the edit is working because the view is being updated but obviously the edits are not being permanently saved because the isDirty flag value is not being changed.

Any ideas off the top of your head?

Glad you liked the tutorials. As a rule of thumb, you should include any header file of the class you use in a different class.

For example, if you have Class A and you want to use Class B in Class A. Then Class A needs to know about Class B, so the header file of the Class B should be included in Class A.

I have to cover a lot of things in a tutorial and I try to keep it a little short. Including header files is a common practice and I am sure you will get the hang of it.
